Living on the Hawaiian Islands, I've had the privilege and an opportunity to visit the Maui Stupa, built conveniently in the center of town. This was my first stupa encounter and I was overjoyed and inspired to pay homage to this auspicious object. With time it began to integrate into my awareness and later I couldn't imagine the islands without it, like a beacon shining for the benefit of all sentient beings.
