Magical Trip to Sedona AZ

Our trip to Sedona manifested effortlessly as if we already knew that this is what we needed to do at the beginning of 2021. We both heard of the powerful energies of this solar vortex for many years, but never actually had the time to visit it, given such a long drive south even by Colorado standards.

We planned three whole days of discovery, which for us is plenty even during limited winter daylight. Temperatures hovered in the sixties, and afternoon desert sunshine was often too strong for comfort, giving us mornings and late afternoons for most of our activities. Nevertheless, we planned each day in advance and averaged 10 hiking miles per day, which is plenty to get nicely tired.

We started our Sedona adventures with a classical hike to the Cathedral, which proved to be less than exciting for us, but opened up our view to so many other potentials, that we couldn't wait to explore further. Once again, we were faced with heavy layers of human opinions and judgments about the nature of reality, gracefully circumnavigating our way through various densities with joy and wisdom.

Amazed by the views, we slowly started to sink into the bowl of Sedona sunshine, relaxing our intellects and allowing our light bodies to mingle with the powerful forces of nature, remembering the spiritual essence of this timeless and magical place before it became a popular tourist attraction. Carefully and gently crafting our ways through the human realm, we focused on covering the major trail hubs around the area, allowing each day to be filled with another courageous discovery of the unknown.

Diligently packing for each excursion, we braved into the wilderness, following our intuition and basic common sense to find the secret places containing the most powerful energetic downloads, tirelessly reaching each blockbuster moment, anchoring and integrating multidimensional downloads into the bigger picture of cosmic awareness. Spontaneous conversations about seemingly disconnected topics all flowed into the main river of powerful realizations, roaring its way through the illusion of our small daily existence.

A visit to the Stupa park on the first day was most welcome, as it provided a much needed sanctuary for our sensitive light bodies, letting us rest within a sacred space of the timeless awareness of the Buddha Amitabha. We spun the prayer wheels, circumambulated the stupa, and made our offerings, enjoying the boundless light energy and peaceful vibrations each day of our trip. Two scenic hiking trails right behind the Stupa offered an excellent opportunity to connect with nearby spirits and observe amazing sunsets over the hilltops.

Our hike to the top of Chimney Rock for sunset opened up our view to the valley behind the ridge, coloring the landscape with deep hues of red and orange. Ancient rocks stared back at us with frozen glamor, acknowledging our presence and inviting for an opportunity to witness the sun disappear behind the horizon one more time. We shared the space with spirits of lions and brave warriors, listening to their mute presence filled with images of truth and authenticity. The silence buzzed with solar energy, relaxing the mind into the state of pleasure and tranquility, mingling the heart vibrations with the radiating redness of the sandstone.

A few native american hikers disturbed the majestic silence with their drumming, invoking local spirits with mysterious incantations, reviving precious memories of a time not too long ago. Respectful and humble in our ways, we listened with much joy to their voices, absorbing the saturation of experience while quietly connecting to the space around us.

Our second day started as a peaceful morning excursion with an uneventful hike for about an hour, which turned out later to be our best hike there. Spectacular rock formations started popping up as soon as we looped around the mountain, with scenic plateaus of bare sandstone surrounded by canyons and majestic mountaintops in all directions. Our walk soon turned into a picture-taking marathon, trying to capture surrounding beauty with limited means, allowing ourselves to take the time to absorb pure magnificence of the landscape. We lost the trail a few times, backtracking until the right way would unexpectedly reveal itself, as if reminding gazing travelers to pay closer attention. Weather was perfect, gentle sunshine warmed up the atmosphere just enough for comfort without the midday blast, allowing us to hop around all day in Sedona’s backcountry. This was a day of pure pleasure, as we quickly lost track of time and allowed ourselves to get really tired for the ride home.

During our third day we decided to take a more popular route, hiking deep into the Soldier Pass canyon and taking the Brins Mesa trail back to the parking lot. As with most popular trails, they are a lot more trafficked and hence less enjoyable for energy connoisseurs such as ourselves. We did manage to snap a few outstanding pictures of peculiar mountaintops that looked like characters lost in the wrinkles of time, authentically standing in their truth and silently observing the confusion below. The seven sacred pools were dry, reflecting the shadows of the water that runs through them during the rainy season. We loved the little crooked tree that wrapped its roots around the cracks of the sandstone, and spent some time next to it meditating and taking pictures. A powerful rainbow around the sun manifested in the early afternoon and lasted for hours, inspiring us even more and helping us further strengthen our connection with Sedona.

Overall this trip has been a powerful start to this new and very auspicious year, laying in the groundwork early to set the right intention for many years to come. We discussed many spiritual and actionable topics during our trip, and came back inspired for manifesting good things together. We also took note of some things that we could have done better and allowed for possibilities to make more educated choices next time. During our drive back home, we witnessed another magical Colorado sunset, with mountains covered in snow and our hearts filled with content, it was a good conclusion to another powerful beginning.
